Church's banquet marks launch of £10m building project

A HALESOWEN church held a banquet to mark the official launch of its ambitious £10m buildilng project as well as celebrating its 30th anniversary.

The event at Zion Christian Centre was attended by a host of civic leaders including the Mayor of Dudley cllr Pat Martin, members of the public and volunteers at the church's Little Cornbow base.

Also joining in the celebration were community organisations and charities from across the borough as well as people from the church's partner organisations which carry out work helping AIDS orphans and disadvantaged people in Africa, India and Eastern Europe.

Attendees were able to see plans for the church's exciting building project called ‘The Third Place.’ Plans include revamping part of the existing building as well as demolishing part of it and buildilng a new block.

The new building would feature an auditorium with space for around 800 people through a pull-out tiered seating system which converts into a sports hall as well as a coffee shop and café, hair salon, recording studio and sensory room.
