The Yeltz Trust has released a statement concerning the rollercoaster week that Halesowen Town Football Club has had.

A last minute bid for the club lodged by local man Robert McNaughton means that creditors and administrators have to pick between the Ingram brothers bid and the new offer.

The Yeltz Trust has agreed to bring an end to the boycott of home games after a 150 strong meeting of its members.

Here is the statement in full.

“With two offers now lodged with the administrators, the Trust members came to hear statements from the potential owners and vote on the way forward for the Zamaretto Premier Division Club.

“Yeltz Trust Chairman, Guy Cooper took the fans through the rival offers to bring the club out of administration, with the Southern League having confirmed the associated 10 point deduction last week.

“Godfrey and Graham Ingram, the one-time backers of former owner Morell Maison, stated that Mr Maison had no role to play in their offer and that they would look to rebuild the club as a responsible business.

“Local man Robert McNaughton, whose counter offer was received on Monday’s deadline, said that he believed his offer was the fairest for the creditors and fans and provided a real chance for the people of Halesowen to play a role in, and ultimately take control of the football club.

“With Graham Ingram currently running the Hawne Lane Club under licence from the administrator, there was much debate before a vote was taken on lifting the Trust’s support of the boycott.

“Two thirds of the members present voted to lift the self imposed ban, and return to support Matt Clarke’s side as they try to climb back up the league.

“Both the Board and the members were at pains to point out that this should not be seen as a vote of approval for the Ingrams’ bid, but that it was made for football reasons.

“This was underlined in the second vote where 40% of the members supported Mr McNaughton’s bid.

However, the majority decided to abstain on this vote until more details could be provided.

Yeltz Trust Chairman, Guy Cooper said: “The boycott has shown the power of the fans. We wanted Morell Maison and Kelly Gentles removed and that’s what has happened. “ Mr Cooper added: “The FA should take note that we have won our first battle but this doesn’t mean that we’re necessarily in favour of the Ingrams’ bid. We want the potential owners, whoever they are, to be inclusive of the fans, explain their plans to us and allow us the chance to work with them to rebuild the club.”

The Chairman warned: “The boycott has worked once and can be recalled if we feel that we’re being excluded from the big decisions that affect the future of our club.”
