A KINDHEARTED Halesowen man is all set to meet the Queen to receive an MBE for his services to the local community.
Paul Maley, of Carol Crescent, will go to Buckingham Palace on Friday to receive the honour.
The 48-year-old, who works at Job Centre Plus in Stourbridge, has been giving up his time as a member of the 2nd Halesowen Boys Brigade Company for 40 years.
During that time he has been an officer and a captain.
Paul also helps out at Shortcross Methodist Church by taking disabled worshippers to and from services and activities. He also finds time to volunteer at the Citizens' Advice Bureau in Halesowen one day a week.
His voluntary work doesn't stop there - he is also captain of the third 11s at Pedmore Cricket Club where he has been a member for the last seven years.
Paul's father Alan Maley said: "We are over the moon and really proud of Paul."
The family does not know who nominated Paul to receive the honour.
