Court hears of murdered care worker's horrific injuries

A COURT heard today (Wednesday) about the terrible injuries suffered by murdered Halesowen care worker Paul Hadley.

It is alleged Stuart Alsop, of Worcester House, Hill Street, Halesowen, blugeoned the father of three to death and stole his £1k gambling winnings.

His body was found in St John the Baptist churchyard in Halesowen last November.

Wolverhampton Crown Court heard from pathologist doctor Stephen Wills today, who told the jury via a video link from Australia, where he's now working, about Mr Hadley's horrific injuries.

He said there were 32 injuries to his body adding: "A blunt instrument was used with condiserable force and there were many sites of impact."

He said it was not possible to determine what the implement used would have been but added: "It was heavy and it was weilded with considerable force."

He said divorcee Mr Hadley suffered extensive skull fractures and brain damage.

Mr Alsop, aged 41, denies murder. The trial has been adjourned until tomorrow afternoon and is expected to last three weeks.
