EARLS High School is living up to its status as a performing arts college by bringing Christmas cheer to the people of Halesowen.

The Earls High School choir and 40 piece wind band provided the entertainment at the annual presentation of the community Christmas tree by Sandvik to the people of Halesowen.

The town centre rang out to the tune of seasonal favourites which had been especially revamped for the occasion.

And on Monday pupils will begin entertaining pupils from local primary schools by performing a pantomime they wrote themselves.

Both events are part of The Earls High School of their ‘Community Ties’ programme, which aims to bring the school closer to the people of Halesowen.

Richard Jacobs, Vice Principal, said: “The Earls High School is the oldest school in Halesowen and a key institution in the creation of the town. We are really pleased that our Community Ties programme will once again put us in the heart of community life in Halesowen.

“Both of these events serve as our Christmas gifts to the people of Halesowen and mark just the start of this major initiative to increase our role within the community.”

The Earls High School is a Specialist College in the Performing Arts and Languages and was established in 1652.
