A Rowley Regis school is the first in Sandwell to be awarded a special Anti-Bullying Award for their work with children on the issues of bullying.
Rowley Hall Primary School was visited by Kate McConlough, the borough's anti-bully strategy manager, and her team to look for evidence on how the school deals with bullying.
They spoke to children, staff, governors and parents about bullying in school and how it is dealt with by named people in school.
Head teacher Mrs Lynda Townsend said: "The children later attended a conference where they talked about their school and what they do to deal with bullying within their school as a whole.
"We are very proud that our children impressed people with their views on bullying and to have been awarded this Charter Mark on such an important issue, especially as we are the first school in Sandwell to get this award."
They have now collected the award and have the special charter mark award logo. The award will be presented to the school by Brian Aldridge, the Council's Director of Learning on Wednesday December 9.
Councillor Ian Jones, cabinet member for children and young people has praised Rowley Hall for its work. "We all know that bullying is unacceptable and is something which Sandwell takes very seriously and I congratulate everyone at Rowley Hall for their achievement.
"The Charter Mark has been set up to recognise the good work schools across the borough are doing to tackle bullying"
