POLICE are searching for a teenage girl who has been missing from her Wollescote home for over a week.

Sarah Dunn, aged 15, went missing on Wednesday, January 27,after she left her home around 5.30pm.

The teenager also went missing in October last year during a shopping trip to Bridgnorth and was found six weeks later in Leicester.

Speaking at a press conference at the time, officers said Sarah was looking at converting to Islam and was reading the Qur'an and had purchased a prayer mat and was praying, and appealed for help from the Asian community in Dudley.

West Midlands Police believe she may have once again travelled to other parts of the borough, or headed back to Leicester, Smethwick or Telford to meet up with friends, as they become increasingly concerned for her welfare.

Leading the latest investigation, Detective Inspector Will O'Connor from Halesowen CID said: "Sarah is a very streetwise teenager, but we are very concerned about her wellbeing. We know she has links in the Smethwick, Leicester and Telford areas, as well as her hometown of Dudley. We believe she may have travelled to one of these places and maybe met up with friends.

"We are making a direct appeal for her to get in touch with police to let us know that she is OK, as well as urging anyone who has seen her to get in touch with West Midlands Police."

Sarah is described as white, 5ft tall, slim build, with dark medium length hair and blue eyes.

Police have also advised she doesregularly change her hair colour and although Sarah very recently had dark hair, it may well have changed over the past few days.

And although Sarah is only 15-years-old, she could easily pass for someone older.

When she went missing, Sarah was wearing a white three-quarter length coat, dark trousers, a dark V neck t-shirt with a gold baggy top worn over the top.

If anyone has any information about Sarah’s whereabouts they are urged to contact Halesowen CID on 0845 113 5000.
