WITH love in the air as Valentines Day approaches the RSPCA is asking all prospective pet owners if they have room in their heart for two?
The RSPCA often takes in multiple animals: animals that have always lived together in a group or as a pair. Some animals are simply devoted to one other and the prospect of separating them is not an option.
Other animals find love in an RSPCA animal home after being paired up.
As it is often harder to find homes for pairs, the RSPCA is hoping that this special appeal will help find the right homes for animals in love.
Animals such as sibling cats Sugar and Spice that are currently being cared for by the South Cotswolds branch of the RSPCA.
The three-year-old brother and sister have lived their entire lives together. The loving, sweet natured cats have endured a confusing time coming into a cattery but have coped well due to having each other. Another couple of loved up felines are Sooty and Ebony who found love in an RSPCA cattery.
Current residents at Burton Animal Home, the cats came into the centre separately as strays but were paired up and have been inseparable ever since. Sooty is a very affectionate cat that loves fuss. His tail is missing due to a road traffic accident. Ebony can be a nervous girl but has found her dream man in Sooty who has helped build her confidence.
Also at Burton Animal Home are soul mates Meg and Pippa. The two devoted cross-breed dogs love nothing more than simply being together.
They relish a run off the lead and very much enjoy playing together.
Pippa is an eight year old whippet cross and Meg is a nine year old German Shepherd cross. The RSPCA Stafford and Wolverhampton branch of the RSPCA is currently trying to find a home for a cat family.
The brother and two sisters have found themselves in RSPCA care after their owner passed away. Sam, the younger brother at eight years old, looks up to his older sisters, Sarah and Sophie for comfort. The loving cats have a strong bond and desperately hope someone will be willing to keep the family unit together.
And for all you pet owners out there with one solitary animal at home, is your pet craving a buddy? Many animals love the companionship of another animal so if you have a lonely bunny or a depressed dog contact your local RSPCA for some Valentines matchmaking.
