CHARITY football and volleyball matches between Cradley Heath youngsters and the police are set to net about £2,000 for children with life-limiting illnesses.
The event, organised by the Ahmadiyya Community School and the Old Hill and Cradley Heath neighbourhood police, will kick off at 1pm on Sunday (September 12) in aid of the Acorns Children’s Hospice.
Regional secretary, outreach and sports co-ordinator for the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association Toby Ephram said the entry fee was £15 per player and people could also donate to www.justgiving.com/MKA “Children from 10 can take part and we hope they will understand that vulnerable children are part of the community and need support,” he said.
The matches will be played at Bearmore Park, Bearmore Road, with the finals at 3.30pm.
The final session and cheque presentation will be at the Baitul Mahdi Mosque, School Street, with special guest Councillor Ann Shackleton and a talk by Sergeant Colin Gallier, followed by a free dinner for participants.
