ANOTHER crop of mind-bending skunk weed has been found in Halesowen.

Officers from the Belle Vale and Halesowen North neighbourhood teams have carried out a warrant at a premises in Ankerdine Court yesterday (Tuesday 14 September) at 9am.

Following reports of a strong smell and suspicious activity, officers forced entry to the property to find a cannabis factory with approximately 20 plants of varying maturity and a sophisticated hydroponics set-up.

The weed, known on the street as 'skunk', 'sticky icky', 'the chronic', 'stanky', 'ol Mary' or 'cheese' could have been sold for thousands of pounds. A 23-year-old man was arrested at the scene and is currently on police bail.

Police constable Sundeep Kaur Cheema said: “We are pleased that we have been able to disrupt this supply of cannabis. My thanks go to the members of the public who have helped us to uncover this criminal activity. We aim to improve the quality of life for the residents of Halesowen.”
