POLICE are searching Cradley and Halesowen looking for a man who went missing on Monday afternoon.

Mr Shafi Shaikh, aged 65, went missing this afternoon from Littlehill Crescent, Halesowen near Corngreaves Trading Estate.

A police spokesman said: “Officers are concerned as Mr Shaikh, who arrived to visit family from Pakistan on Wednesday, has been feeling unwell for the last few days and was noticed to be missing by relatives, with whom he was staying, at approximately 1.45pm on Monday.

“Officers have undertaken a large scale search for this man, and have carried out house to house enquiries, visited local shops, local mosques and temples and community centres and local hospitals.”

He went missing wearing only his pyjamas, a blue woolly hat and his slippers.

The police spokesman added: He is described as an Asian male, medium build, black hair and wearing glasses.”

Inspector John Bostock from Dudley police added:"We are concerned for his safety due to his age and vulnerability due to wearing little clothing on a cold November evening.”
