CHILDREN from a Halesowen school are being offered a healthy boost with fitness sessions at the town’s college The college has linked up with nearby Newfield Park Primary School to offer after school sporting activities for 18 pupils every Tuesday.

Level Two Diploma Sports students are leading the sessions with support from their lecturers as part of the planning and leading unit of their diploma.

Course leader Rebecca Morgan said: “These free sessions come at a time when some sports funding nationally is being cut.

“The young children will get fit and experience new activities and our students will get first hand experience of planning and delivering games lessons while also being assessed.”
