A LEADING Muslim scholar is to visit Cradley Heath to help remove misconceptions about Islam.
Maulana Abdul Ghaffar will be the keynote speaker at a peace event organised by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association this weekend.
Mr Ghaffar, who is from Ghana and previously served as prayer leader at Western Europe’s largest mosque in London, is the regional Ahmadiyya missionary in the Midlands.
He will address a non-Muslim audience including politicians, police, army, church leaders and residents at the group's annual dinner and charity cheque presentation at its School Street centre.
Dr Masood Majoka, president of the Cradley Heath branch of AMA said: "We are delighted such a prominent and respected scholar will grace our event.
“Particularly at a time when Islam and its Holy Prophet are unjustly targeted and attacked, it is extremely important to enlighten people - Muslims and non-Muslims alike - about the true teachings of our faith."
