Staff and pupils in years three, four, five and six at Halesowen Church of England Primary School all celebrated the end of their term long topic The Terrible Tudors.
As a finale to their topic, staff and pupils held their very own Tudor Day on Wednesday, March 30. Children took part in a variety of activities during the morning, including making pomanders, writing with quills and ink, playing Merelles (a medieval board game) and baking bread. During the afternoon, children will have a go at Tudor dancing and make marzipan fruits.
Staff and pupils also dressed up for the day.
Tom Garner, Phase 2 Coordinator at the High Street School, said “These kind of days help to bring the curriculum to life for the children and make history come alive. This is a ‘fantastic finish’ to our topic which is part of our commitment at Halesowen C. of E. Primary to delivering a creative curriculum.”
