A heartbroken dog is refusing to eat after his "best friend" Jasper the cat went missing.
Blake the doberman's owner Michelle Semen, of Colley Gate, is having to force feed the two-year-old to keep him alive.
She said Blake and Jasper were best buddies who cuddled up to sleep together and even went on walks side by side.
Jasper went missing on Wednesday August 9 - since then Blake has been so distraught he has refused to eat.
Michelle, of Beeches View Avenue, said: "I'm desperate to get my cat back and am worried I am going to lose my dog too.
"Blake and Jasper were really close.
"When Jasper would come in he would miaow and Blake would go running to see if he was okay- Jasper would follow Blake and my other dog Milly when I took them on walks.
"It seems strange because it's a little cat and a big dog.
"I'm really struggling with Blake - he's inconsolable - he just wants to go walking to look for Jasper.
"He's refusing to eat, I am literally having to force feed him fresh meat.
"He keeps moping and pushing the cat flap.
"It's like he's got a broken heart - it's his best mate he's lost."
Michelle, a legal executive for a law firm, has put up 500 posters around the area, has taken out adverts in newspapers, and has been pounding the streets, in a desperate attempt to find one-year-old black and white moggie Jasper and is appealing for anyone with information to call her on 0776 9855364.
She said her neighbour told her Jasper had been locked in her outbuilding and had been frightened off by her dog when she let him out. Jasper is microchipped.
