GENEROUS children and parents at a Rowley Regis school sent in bag loads of food donations to celebrate their harvest festival and help people in need.

Dozens of bags of tins, packets and jars, along with baskets of fresh vegetables were collected at Rowley Hall Primary School and shared between the Birmingham City Mission for the Homeless and the Regis Christian Fellowship for the Women's Refuge Emergency Service.

A special assembly was held, with Rev Ian Shelton from St Giles Church, reminding the children why harvest festivals are so important.
