All football games in Sandwell parks cancelled this weekend

All football matches planned for Sandwell parks and open spaces this weekend have been cancelled due to the predicted cold snap.

The council took the decision because of the forecast for icy weather and the risk of frozen pitches.

Cabinet member for neighbourhood services Councillor Derek Rowley said it was an unfortunate but necessary step and it was best to give teams as much notice as possible.
