THE dream of a place in the final of a top TV talent show and a £250,000 cash prize is over for Halesowen dancing sensation Hippy-Joe Weston.
The 14-year-old freestyle performer was pipped to the post by two street dancing groups - A Team and Methods of Movement in Sunday’s semi-final of Got to Dance.
But a Sky1 spokesman said the fourth heat brought together the toughest line-up to date, adding that the Windsor High School student delivered her routine with “passion and emotion.”
Viewers had just eight minutes to phone through their votes after the live show at London’s Pinewood Studio, with both winners being large groups.
Proud mum Kerry Weston said: “She’s disappointed, but she’s fine, and looking to the future. We had a brilliant weekend and I’m sure there will be other opportunities for her.
“The dance troupes are professional, so it was likely they’d win.”
Another Black Country contender Joe Priest, from Kingswinford, won through to the final in the previous week’s semi-final heat with his dance group Antics Dance Crew.
