Top accordionists tune up for Rowley concert

A WORLD renowned accordion duo from the Ukraine are to play in Rowley Regis as part of a nationwide tour to raise money for the child victims of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster.

The Kyiv Classic Duo, Igor and Oleski, will be guests of the Black Country Accordion Club and will perform at the Rowley Regis Disability Centre, Rowley Village, of Monday (June 25) at 7.30pm.

It will be their third visit to the club and all profits from the performance, plus a raffle, tote and auction, will go to support children who are still being born with deformities resulting from the radiation leak 26 years after the explosion.

Club secretary Lou Ambrose said: “Music enthusiasts from far and wide will be here to hear them play their wonderful music.”
