Dudley Council want the people of Cradley to give their ideas about improving Colley Gate and Windmill Hill.

The stretch of road through Cradley is one of the worst traffic and air pollution black spots in the borough and has long been a cause of complaint amongst residents.

Potential improvements would stretch from Colley Gate and along Windmill Hill and aim to make the area greener, more accessible and attractive.

Cradley residents have been invited to give their ideas about how what improvements are needed at Providence Methodist Church on Saturday.

Cradley and Wollescote Councillor Tim Crumpton said: “It is great that we are having this consultation to coincide with the Cradley carnival events on Saturday because there will be plenty of people around to give their opinions about improving the area.”

Residents can speak to council officers, ask questions and complete a feedback questionnaire. The feedback will help the council in its bid for further funding to design and cost up any future improvements.

Councillor Shaukat Ali, cabinet member for regeneration at Dudley Council, said: "We hope that local people and businesses will take an interest in these potential improvements at this early consultation event.

“We believe it's extremely important for residents to have an input into plans for their local area during the feasibility stage. Working with the community and building on their feedback puts us in a strong position when it comes to bidding for funding for future improvements.”

The consultation will be at Providence Methodist Church, Windmill Hill, Cradley on Saturday 30 June from noon to 5pm, for more information about the plans phone 01384 815428.
