Bumps and babes group for Halesowen parents
10:45am Wednesday 11th July 2012 in News
A DROP-in group for expectant and new parents in Halesowen and Stourbridge has been launched.
Bumps and Babes is run by the local branch of the National Childbirth Trust, and meets on Tuesdays from 10am until noon at the Butterfly Children’s Centre, Lye.
Volunteer organiser Hayley Duffield said: “Come along for a cuppa, biscuit and chat with your friends or to make new friends.”
The group is open to NCT members and non-members offering free sociable drop-in sessions.
Mrs Duffied added: “I volunteered to run the group as I feel it provides a really valuable service to mums-to-be and new parents, especially towards the end of pregnancy and the early days of having a new baby.
“As a parent to a nearly eight-month-old, I understand that the first few months can be quite isolating at times and it is so useful to have local groups that are welcoming and easily accessible.
“It also gives people a good reason to get out the house with baby, however long it might take to get out of the door.”
