A KINDHEARTED Halesowen kitchen manager raised cash in honour of a colleague after teams from across the country descended on Blackheath for a football tournament.

Liam Mulholland organised the Cormac Cup to keep the memory alive of fellow TGI Friday’s worker Cormac Doyle.

On Tuesday teams from TGI Friday’s across the UK played for the cup and raised over £800 for Acorns and Coventry Hospital Maternity Unit.

Mr Mulholland said: “We have been doing this since 2006 now and have raised over £4,000 in Cormac’s memory for great causes.

“This year the Birmingham team got to the final but Glasgow were the deserved winners.”

TGI Friday’s Birmingham manager Lyndsey Hill added: “The tournament started as a local event between the Birmingham, Coventry, Sutton Coldfield and Solihull stores, but over the last couple of years, we have opened it up to the company, with stores bringing teams from London and Scotland, and even the company finance department have joined in with us.”
