CONTROVERSIAL changes to Cradley Library will be a hot topic at a meeting for library users in Halesowen next week.

Library users and Dudley Council often clash when facilities are changed or modernised and the refurbishment of Cradley Library has led to complaints about the removal of the old fashioned counters.

The Halesowen locality library panel forum will be held in Halesowen Library ’s Caslon Hall on Monday, July 23 from 6pm to 7pm.

The meeting is open to everyone and offers an opportunity to discuss ideas and comments about Halesowen, Long Lane and Cradley libraries. There will also be a presentation on library online resources.

Councillor Khurshid Ahmed, cabinet member for housing, libraries and adult learning, said: “Local opinion is so important to the successful running of council services; and by taking into account people’s thoughts and suggestions the panel can ensure Halesowen, Long Lane and Cradley libraries are serving their communities in the best possible way.”
