Police offer property marking service
12:00pm Sunday 29th July 2012 in News
DUDLEY Wood police will be out and about marking up people’s property next week.
Neighbourhood officers will be at Aldi on Saltwells Road from 10.30am until 12pm on Friday August 3, followed by a session at Asda from 1pm until 3.30pm.
On Sunday August 5, the police will be at Black Horse Park between 10.30am and 12pm and at Spring Meadow Park from 1.30pm until 3pm.
Residents will be able to get property such as phones, cameras, Ipads and Ipods marked with an ultra violet pen, which can then assist officers in returning any valuables which are lost or stolen.
Neighbourhood Sergeant Duncan Rudge, said: "Crime is down in the area and we want to ensure it stays that way. "Community events like these give us the opportunity to speak with local residents and offer them some simple tips which can help reduce their chances of becoming a victim of crime".
