ST JOHN the Baptist Church in Halesowen is holding two music concerts in September.

Halesowen parish church has a long history of holding musical recitals and the church hope to raise funds through holding concerts.

Sue Morgan-Salcombe, from St John’s, said: “We have such a wonderful setting for concerts in the church so we thought it would be nice to take advantage.

“A really great atmosphere can be generated in the church and we are all looking forward to September’s concerts.”

The historic Queensway church will be filled with the sounds of piano and classic guitar for a coffee concert on Saturday, September 8.

Shoppers in the town can pop in for an hour from 10.30am to hear Sarah Daniels and Andrew Gough perform together.

Tickets cost £5 and entrance is free for under-tens.

The following Saturday the parish church will welcome Stourport-on-Severn Brass Band to perform a variety of compositions.

The band have won host of accolades and awards over the years and are seen as one of the best brass bands in the Midlands.

Tickets for the concert cost £8 for adults and there are concessions for under-16s and the price includes refreshments. Tickets for both concerts will be available on the door on the night and from the Tradepoint shop beforehand.
