Money matters advice for Sandwell tenants

A LOTTERY windfall of nearly £1 million is being used to set up a service to help young, unemployed and first time social housing tenants in Sandwell manage their finances.
The borough’s financial services hub is being launched by the Blackheath -based Black Country Housing Group after securing the Big Lottery funding.
The aim is to help them manage a household budget and take control of domestic bills by offering a range of financial and support services including a mentoring programme and access to products such as a basic bank account.
The project, due to get under way in November, is being led by BCHG in conjunction with partners, including Accord Housing Group and Midland Heart.
