Halesowen choir in appeal for more male voices

A RECENTLY-formed Halesowen choir is looking for more men to swell its ranks after a successful first three concerts.

The Lutley Community Voices was formed in January and has performed at Lutley Primary School’s family fun day, the town’s Victorian Fair and at the We’ve Got Talent, organised by the Friends of Homer Hill Park at Cradley Community Centre.

Music director Margaret Jones said: “We have been working on songs from across the decades of the Queen’s reign to celebrate the jubilee and will be moving on to include songs from the West End and Broadway in our repertoire this term.

“We would give a warm welcome to new members - especially men - at our rehearsals.”

The choir will meet every Thursday from 8pm until 9.15pm at Lutley Primary School, Brookwillow Road, from September 6.

No previous experience of singing in a choir or reading music is necessary. For more details email lutleycommunityvoices@hotmail.co.uk
