Cannabis plants found in Brierley Hill house

FIFTY cannabis plants have been removed from a rented house in Brierley Hill .

Police discovered the haul at a house in Orchard Street at around 5.30pm on Friday, after attending the property on unrelated matters.

Empty plant pots and a number of dead plants were also discovered in two upstairs bedrooms.

The cannabis factory's heat lamps had been powered by electricity illegally drawn from the mains supply.

A forensic examination of the property and its contents was conducted yesterday and police investigations are underway.

Anyone with information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 11.

We need to stop this stupid and unwinnable war against cannabis. It is causing far more harm to our communities than it prevents. If we had a properly regulated system of production and supply we'd have no more illegal cannabis farms, instead we'd have thousands of new jobs. We'd have no more dealers on the streets. Cannabis would be available to adults only through licensed outlets and we'd have some control over the THC and CBD content.

Doctors would be able to prescribe one of the safest and most effective medicines that has no serious side effects at all. At the moment the government has given GW Pharmaceuticals an illegal monopoly on cannabis so they make millions out of a medicine that you can grow in your greenhouse for virtually nothing.

If we introduced a legally regulated system we would solve nearly all the problems around cannabis. Science proves how much safer it is than tobacco, alcohol, prescription medicines and all other recreational drugs. If anyone does have a problem with it they could get help without having to confess to a crime.

CLEAR published independent, expert research last year which shows that a tax and regulate policy on cannabis would produce a net gain to the UK economy of up to £9.3 billion per annum.

It is a scandal that our government, our judges, our courts, our police and our newspapers keep misleading us about cannabis. Find out the truth for yourself and wake up to the lies you have been told..

What sort of information?
I can tell them its a waste of public money and at best they are trying to save people from themselves.

This use of the misnomer 'cannabis factory' is getting tiresome. It is a term put out by prohibitionists to frighten the public, by implying that cannabis is a dangerous, processed drug, such as heroin or cocaine.

It's not: it's a plant, and the provider of the safest, most universally effective medicine known to man.

Plants grow - they are not produced in factories.

PJMcNeill nicely said

Poppies have to go through a process to become Heroine, as do Coca leaves to become powdered cocaine. In fact almost ever other 'drug' including the legal ones go through an unnatural process usually with people wearing breathing apparatus. Cannabis is unique, it grows until it produces ripe flowers then it is harvested, dried and cured. Nothing gets added and it doesnt go through an unnatural process. Thats why its different. You can even find scientific evidence to prove cannabis is the safest recreational drug and or medicine on Earth. That aside, cannabis isnt harmless, then again nether is fast food but we dont prohibit snacks and jail unhealthy eaters, prohibition causes more harm than cannabis ever could. It prevents scientific research, prevents people getting a medicine and if they do get it disallowing regulation means no quality control, so when you hand a market to criminals they will do anything to make more money, even add heroine in with the cannabis flowers to get people addicted to hard drugs, they even add glass particles to add weight. Prohibition does nothing to reduce cannabis use and does nothing to get rid of dealers long term.
