LEGENDARY Sandwell charity fundraiser Blind Dave Heeley took part in last night’s Paralympics opening ceremony.
The Freeman of Sandwell was riding a tandem bike with the borough’s former top cop Steve Dugmore in the Olympic stadium.
Dave, who once run seven marathons in seven continents in seven days, could clearly be seen dancing on the back of the bike.
They were dressed up as ‘swamp creatures’ and happily wore their outfits when they disembarked at Sandwell and Dudley railway station this morning.
Cradley Heath and Old Hill Councillor John Tipper was delighted that Blind Dave was included in the ceremony.
He said: "I can't think of a better ambassador for Sandwell. He's done so much fantastic work over the past few years and it's great he's now getting recognition on an international stage."
