Helen Campbell, Neil Gantley and Chris Davies prepare for their German adventure.
A Halesowen paramedic is set raise cash for charity by tackling Germany’s world famous Nurburgring race track in a three wheeler.
Helen Campbell, aged 39, has been with West Midlands Ambulance Service for eight years and is is praying her Delboy Robin Reliant copes with the four day trip to Germany.
In September Helen and two friends will be embarking on a four day trip to raise money for Compton Hospice in Wolverhampton.
Helen, Neil Gantley and Chris Davies leave Halesowen on September 28 where they will drive to Germany in the distinctive ‘Trotters Independent Trading Co’ van followed by a rare Citroën 2cv dolly pick-up truck.
Once there, they will complete a lap of The Nurburgring, the famous car test track, before driving back to Halesowen, completing a total of 1142 miles. Helen said: “I recently lost my best friend to cancer.
She was 39 and left behind her one year old son.
She received excellent care during her last days at a hospice so this is a cause I feel passionately about.
“Please dig deep and donate what you can to help raise much needed funds so that the hospice can continue their great work to help others in the same situation.”
