MORE than 1,500 people flocked to Halesowen and Hagley Farmers’ Club’s annual show in Romsley with organisers hailing the event a massive success.

The 66th show, on fields at St Kenelms Road on Sunday (September 16) featured horse and dog shows, a farmers’ market and home craft competitions as well as carriage driving.

Show co-ordinator Jackie Cartledge said: “The attendance was up nearly to its heyday, which was really good. Overflow carparks were just that - overflowing.

“It was a really fun family event with a really good atmosphere, the standard of horses, riders and carriages were superb.”

More than 230 dogs were entered into categories including best child handler and veteran dog. Trade stands showcasing camper vans, garden sculptures and veggies were also popular.

Driotwich ferret resuce also had a stand and children enjoyed activities including pottery painting, balloon sculpture and cow milking.
