Hope Centre in Halesowen preparing for community fun day

THE Hope Centre in Halesowen is preparing for a community fun day to celebrate the centre’s continued success.

The Mayor and Mayoress of Dudley Melvyn and Michelle Mottram will be attending the event on Saturday, September 29.

Despite losing funding and battling against financial problems The Andrew Road centre has become a bastion of the community providing education and support for the Highfields community.

And to celebrate the centre’s continued success there will be food, dancing and a host of different stalls selling bric-a-brac, cakes and arts and crafts.

Wendy Riley, from the Hope Centre, said: “We are really looking forward to the community fun day and are delighted that the mayor and mayoress will be coming along.

“Everyone in the community is invited and it should be a wonderful day with lots of dancing and food available.” She added: “We have a lot going on here at the moment with Teen Challenge transforming our creche into a charity clothes shop which we are all excited about.”

The Hope Centre community fun day is between 11am and 3pm on Saturday, September 29.
