BIG-hearted cyclist Jonathan White, from Halesowen , helped lead 18 friends on a gruelling 300-mile cycling challenge to raise money for charity.

The group pedalled from London to Paris in three days and burst their £20,000 raising more than £21,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

They started at London’s Tower Bridge en route to Dover where they caught the Channel ferry to Calais from where they meandered their way through North West France to Paris.

Mr White said: “We had over 20 punctures and various changed frames and pedals. It was very, very hard but everyone made. We’re still a bit saddle sore.”

The group are far from novices as during the last three years the friends - more than 50 in total - have taken on various endurance cycling events and raised in excess of £50,000 for Macmillan.
