Big hopes pinned on Saturday's show at Colley Gate club

ORGANISERS are hoping that Saturday’s (September 29) first ever crafts and produce show at a Colley Gate club will become an annual event.

It is being held at the Laurels Club will also feature a farmers’ market on the car park, barbecue, bouncy castle - weather permitting - and face painting.

Committee member Richard Legiewicz said the aim was to create more interest in the area. Dudley’s deputy mayor and mayoress Councillor Alan Finch and his wife Heather will open the show at 1pm.

Mr Legiewizc said: “If it is successful, we plan to make it a bigger annual event, similar to the Old Hill Festival.”

Judging will be at 3pm and prizes will be awarded for first, second and third in seven categories. There is also a children's section.

Entry forms are still available from the-laurels.webeden.co.uk or the Windmill Hill club on 0121 602 1812.
