A HOST of Roald Dahl characters turned up for lessons at a Halesowen school and raised more than £300 to help ill children.
Lutley Primary School pupils paid a donation to dress up as their favourite character from the stories penned by the popular children’s author and enjoyed a day of cross-curricular activities from creative writing to science inspired by George’s Marvellous Medicine.
Their Dahlicious Day raised £338 for the Roald Dahl Marvellous Children’s Charity for specialist nurses, equipment, support and respite for ill children and their families.
Teacher Melanie Glazzard said: “The day inspired them to read more, but also made them aware of the importance of doing something for the community outside school and that they can make a difference.”
