YOUNG achievers were recognised at the annual awards evening at Quinton’s Four Dwellings High School - with the top students winning a holiday.

Students of the Year won a four-day all expenses paid trip to Paris and Euro Disney this December.

The winners were Sador Zerie and Chloe Hopkins from year seven, Olutobi Adedire and Abigail Griffin, from year eight, Connor McCormack and Xara Davies from year nine, Ahmed Naseri and Chloe Best from year 10 and Joseph Harmer, Aaishah Rauf, Kianoosh Sateri and Megan Lewis from year 11.

The Geoffrey Stinton Award, named after a year nine student who was killed in an accident and awarded to a student who is always prepared to 'get stuck in' and lend a hand, went to Geordie Mason.

Melissa Clarke won the Lord Mayor’s Cup for sporting excellence and The Gemma Handley Award, named after a much-loved teaching assistant, who died in her 20s, was presented to Chris Shipley for achievement in the face of adversity.

Curriculum departments also awarded prizes to students for excellence in class.
