Merry Hill unveils outdoor Christmas light switch-on event details

MERRY Hill has announced two further acts who will be switching on its Christmas lights next month.

Earlier this week, the shopping centre announced chart-topping boy band, Lawson, will be doing the honours for the event on Friday November 9.

Joining Lawson will be Mr Zip, from Britain’s Got Talent fame, who will be treating crowds to his catchy song ‘Where me keys, where me phone’ as well as Tyler James, a finalist from BBC’s The Voice.

Kelly Reed, marketing manager at Westfield Merry Hill said: “We’re very excited for what is always one of the biggest events on the centre’s calendar. With the festive season fast approaching, there’s been lots of talk about who’ll be appearing at the big switch on, and we’re sure the announcement won’t disappoint!”

For the first time the switch-on event will also be held outside in the Eat Central car park, hosted by Free Radio DJs Jo and Sparky, with entry by a free ticket.

Tickets are limited and will be allocated on a first come first serve basis and will be available from the concierge desk from Monday October 22.

This year the Christmas decorations will also be based around the festive Nutcracker theme, with a giant ballerina, a soldier and mice lighting up the mall.
