New book set to excite Black Country West Bromwich Albion fans

WEST Bromwich Albion fans from the Black Country are being invited to remember the trials and tribulations of a decade of promotions and relegation.

A new book In Pastures Green tells the story, through a series of player interviews, of all those promotions, relegations, power struggles, FA Cup journeys, the infamous Battle of Bramall Lane.

Written by West Bromwich Albion beat reporter Chris Lepkowski the book also shines a light behind the scenes of the club.

Chris said: "Discover which player turned up for transfer talks with a hangover and mistook chairman Jeremy Peace for a member of the catering staff, who drove his wife’s car in a busy street with dead rodents hanging from it, who had a photography ban placed on him and who walked into a Wolverhampton pub soon after the titanic promotion battle of 2001-02 wearing an Albion suit and tie."

He added: "West Bromwich Albion today is unrecognisable from the Club as it stood at the end of the 20th century, with tremendous strides being made on the field and huge changes off it. 

Richard Sneekes, Bob Taylor, Geoff Horsfield, John Hartson, Kevin Phillips and Jonathan Greening are among the Baggies big-hitters who sat down at length with Chris to provide unique and revealing insights, and there are also forewords by the one and only Big Dave - Darren Moore – and TV presenter and Albion fan Adrian Chiles.
