DUDLEY borough folk can find out ways to save money and obtain other top financial tips by attending a public meeting next week.

Castle and Crystal Credit Union, a not-for-profit financial co-operative, will be available to speak with residents attending Gornal, Upper Gornal and Woodsetton community forum next Monday, September 1.

Experts will be on hand to advise on savings accounts and ways of borrowing money.

Cllr Stuart Turner, Dudley Council's cabinet member for finance, said: "They offer a much better alternative to any of these pay day loan lenders.

"We hope people will find the advice they give at the community forum informative and helpful, especially in these tough times we find ourselves in."

The forum is one of ten taking place at venues across the borough. There will also be a Facebook community forum available via the Dudley borough page on August 28 from 6pm to 7pm.

Netherton, Woodside and St Andrews plus Quarry Bank and Dudley Wood community forum takes place on September 1 at Quarry Bank Community Centre, Sheffield Street.

Gornal, Upper Gornal and Woodsetton's forum takes place on the same night at Upper Gornal Pensioner's Club in Kent Street, Dudley.

Coseley East and Sedgley forum takes place on September 2 at Age Concern, Ettymore Road, Sedgley.

Castle and Priory, plus St James's and St Thomas's forum will be held on September 3 at St Barnabas Church, Middlepark Road, Dudley.

Brierley Hill, Brockmoor and Pensnett forum is set for September 10 at Nine Locks Community Centre in Hill Street, Brierley Hill.
