YOUNGSTERS with learning difficulties from Dudley got to work for their community when they helped smarten up a school playground in Dudley.
Members of the Mencap Young Ambassadors scheme called at Milking Bank School, Aintree Way to take part in a variety of activities including painting and litter picking.
A total of ten Dudley people aged 15 to 25 worked at the school and nearby park worked on the project, most of the youngsters involved attend Dudley Council's Youth Service.
It is the first of two community impact projects the youngsters will take on when they will be supported by officers from Dudley Police Station.
Cllr Tim Crumpton, Dudley cabinet member for children's services, said: "We're pleased to be working together with Mencap to provide volunteering opportunities, helping these young people gain invaluable experience.
“The council is always supportive of projects that bring communities together to make a real difference as part of our 'Love Your Community' initiative.”
