MIRACLE boy Jack Pinder made a special journey to meet some of the people who helped save his life.

The five-year-old from Wollaston was a guest of honour at the Midlands Air Ambulance Christmas party - an event nobody thought he would ever attend.

Jack suffered horrific injuries when he was hit by a trailer being towed by a car in Duncombe Street exactly three years ago.

He sustained life-threatening injuries including fractures to his skull, nose and eye sockets and brain damage which left him in Birmingham Children's Hospital for three months.

But the plucky youngster has battled back against all the odds.

Mum Terri, of Lyttleton Road, revealed: "Jack is doing really well. He still needs a lot of support, is unsteady on his feet and cannot talk. But he has shown steady improvement. He had an operation on his eye earlier this year and he is now able to attend the Brier School in Kingswinford."

Terri has never forgotten the debt of gratitude she owes to the Midland Air Ambulance.

Earlier this year she organised a skydive in Nottinghamshire and together with 15 friends she raised £6,000 for the Midlands Air Ambulance.

She added: "We're planning another skydive next year. I've already got 50 people who want to do it.

"Jack will always need support, but I will always been eternally grateful for what the Midlands Air Ambulance did for him."

A spokesman for the charity said after the party: "It was lovely to see Jack again and to see a smile on his face. Everyone that attended appeared to have a great time."
