ENVIRONMENTAL group Transition Stourbridge is looking to create an everyday shopping bag that people would want to keep.
The group plans to buy 1,000 two-colour printed jute shopping bags to sell through local retailers in Stourbridge on a not-for-profit basis.
And a designer or artist who would be prepared to volunteer their skills and help produce a design for the bag is now being sought.
Charges come into force for shopping bags after the General Election in May and Transition Stourbridge believes the move will help reduce the amount of plastic bags which finish up in land fills, local incinerators or the River Stour.
Anyone keen to help with the project can email Transition Stourbridge at t.stourbridge@googlemail.com
