MEMBERS of Brierley Hill Musical Theatre Company are putting on a concert to raise money two local causes.

Proceeds from the concert, taking place at Brierley Hill Civic Hall on Saturday, March 7, will go towards both Action Heart and the Leukaemia Appeal Fund, which supports Russells Hall Hospital’s Georgina Unit.

The group will perform famous songs from Simon and Garfunkel, The Beatles, Gary Barlow and Sting, as well as tunes from musicals including Guys and Dolls, Les Miserables and Oklahoma.

Joy Brown, fundraiser for Action Heart, said: “Brierley Hill Musical Theatre Company has supported both ourselves and the Leukaemia Appeal Fund for a good few years now.

“By holding their concert last year they were able to raise about £1,500 which was split between the two causes.

“I speak for both Action Heart and the Leukaemia Appeal Fund when I say how grateful we are for their continued support and how much we appreciate the money they have raised.”

Tickets for the show, which starts at 7.30pm, cost £8 and are available in person from The Action Heart Centre at Russells Hall, or by calling Joy Brown 01384 292233.

Alternatively tickets can be purchased from the Georgina Unit’s charity shops in Upper Gornal and Tipton.
