A COMEDY written by Italian actor and playwright Dario Fo is being performed at St John’s Church in Stourbridge.
Can’t Pay? Won’t Pay!, a story about consumer backlash against high prices, will be staged at the church by Emerge Theatre Company on Friday April 24.
Centring on two housewives in a working class suburb of Milan, the story tells the tale of a rebellion against the rising prices of the supermarket as the pair struggle to make ends meet.
Crazy disasters pile on top of each other as the police come knocking looking for goods which had been stolen by the women, while their husbands are strung along thinking their wives are pregnant.
The one-off performance, which is directed by Jonathan Scott, of Stourbridge, and Julia Mucko, starts at 7.30pm.
Tickets, costing £7 for adults and £3 for concessions, can be bought by calling 07895 157093 or emailing emergetheatre@hotmail.com
