NEW drop in sessions for people who want to know more about becoming a foster carer are being launched by Dudley Council’s fostering service.

‘Fostering Friday’ sessions kick off during foster care fortnight between June 1 to 14.

The sessions, which will take place every Friday from June 5, offer an opportunity for people to have an informal chat and find out if fostering might be right for them.

Leader of Dudley Council, Councillor Pete Lowe, said: “Lots of people think about fostering but maybe aren’t sure if their circumstances fit what we’re looking for. That’s why these sessions are so important.

“We want people who are interested in fostering to drop in and find out more about the best job in the world.

“The fostering team can also tell them about eligibility, the different types of foster care and answer any other questions they may have.

“No one has to make a commitment when they attend, we’d just really like to hear from people who think they can offer a great home to the borough’s looked after children.”

The sessions will take place at Flipside House, Stourbridge Road, Dudley, from 1pm to 4pm.
