A DUDLEY man with serious alcohol troubles has been jailed for breaching court orders by contacting his father and ex-wife.

Bhupinder Grewal, aged 43, went to the home of his former wife in the early hours and was banging on the front door as he shouted “this is my house".

Kevin Jones prosecuting, said just weeks later, he went to the home of his father ,which was also in breach of his non-molestation order.

Recorder Stephen Thomas told Grewal: “Your family must be heartily sick of your drink problems.”

He said it was drink that made him aggravate the people who were close to him adding, “This was a very unpleasant experience for your former wife.”

The recorder stressed at Wolverhampton Crown Court: “People are entitled to lead their lives free of such behaviour.”

Grewal, of Junction Street ,admitted two breaches of non-molestation orders and also breaching a four month suspended prison sentence imposed for an earlier breach.

He was jailed for a total of eight months for the two breaches and the recorder also activated the four months from the suspended sentence - to run consecutively.

Simon Templar-Vasey, defending, told the court that Grewal had dried out after being held in custody since his arrest and he was now determined to put his life back in order.

“This is a man who went completely off the rails but he now wants to get back onto the rails,” he added. “He has now got every opportunity he needs to battle his addiction to drink.”
