A RENOWNED Midlands choir will be raising money for Mary Stevens Hospice later this year when they take to the Birmingham Symphony Hall stage.

The Got2Sing choir, comprising of 420 members from Stourbridge and seven other choirs from across the West Midlands, are getting the chance to perform at the world famous venue for the first time since 2013.

When the choir’s founder Beth Dunn booked the ‘Best of British’ concert for September 20, she approached the Hagley Road-based charity to be the beneficiary.

Charlotte Schofield, the hospice’s lottery and special events manager, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for the hospice to partner with such a successful and talented group of local people.

“As soon as Beth approached me I knew the show would be a huge success and a fantastic fundraising opportunity for the hospice, raising vital funds to support patient care as well as their families.

“The event is a fantastic addition to our fundraising calendar and we cannot wait for September 20.”

A full programme of contemporary songs have been learned, hundreds of moves mastered and many hours invested in rehearsals and planning by the choir.

Beth said: “If it is anything like our last performance at the Symphony Hall it will be a wonderful concert.

“So much hard work has been put in all round and it has been a delight working with Mary Stevens Hospice - I hope the evening proves to be a resounding success, not just for the choir, but for the Hospice fundraising team too.”

The choir will be covering the best of Adele, Queen, Take That, The Beatles, Elton John plus many more successful British artists.
