MISS Black Country is hosting a bostin' ball in Dudley to raise funds for Beauty with a Purpose.

Jade Secker, who is currently preparing for the Miss England finals, said the Black Country Ball would be a celebration of the area.

The event, which has a black, red and white dress theme, will take place at The Village Hotel, Birmingham Road, on Friday August 7.

Guests will be able to feast on traditional fish and chips while enjoying classic live Black Country entertainment from The Empty Can and Marlene, a Black Country Wench.

Miss Secker, aged 24, said: "A massive part of holding a title is your charity work. I already spend a lot of my time working for charities but as Miss Black Country I wanted my additional fundraising to represent the area and celebrate all of the fantastic people and history to have come out of the Black Country.

"The event will raise funds for the official Miss England and Miss World charity, which supports disadvantaged children in the local area, the UK and across the world."

Tickets for the event, which starts at 7.30pm, cost £20 and can be purchased by emailing missblackcountry@hotmail.com or calling 07707626786.
