MEMBERS of Dudley and District Business Club - who are gearing up to mark its 30th anniversary - learned more about multiple sclerosis at their latest meeting.

Andy Jarrett, a representative of the Multiple Sclerosis Society, gave a talk about the charity's needs and benefits at the club's gathering at Hagley Golf and Country Club in Wassell Grove.

Business Club vice chairman Judy Owen, who runs Stourbridge-based Associated Telesales Services, then presented him with £50 for the charity from her company.

Club spokesman David Owen said: "The club was founded by some Black Country businessmen 30 years ago to enable small business owners to get together to discuss business in the local community.

"Celebrations to commemorate this landmark will be held later in the year."

The club's present chairman is Nic Beales and there is a membership of more than 50, with a regular turnout of between 30 and 40.

Networking evenings take place on the third Tuesday of each month, when there is a two-course dinner and a speaker.

Anyone interested in joining can contact Judy Owen on 01384 347337.
