MEMBERS of a Dudley heart charity have dug deep to raise the money to buy a life-saving defibrillator for a Wordsley church hall.
Dudley HUGS has bought the piece of kit to keep at Holy Trinity Church Hall off the High Street – after raising around £1,600.
Members of the group have been trained to use the life-saving device as well as the vicar of Holy Trinity Church - Rev Colin Jones.
Barbara Hughes, secretary of Dudley HUGS, said: “It will be stationed inside the church hall and available for groups who use the hall as well as the general public in the event of an emergency. It’s very simple to use and tells you what to do.”
Dudley HUGS support group for people with heart conditions has been going for 11 years and meets every six weeks in Holy Trinity Church Hall.
